Web Site Marketing: Give Away Softwares And Generate Traffic And Sales

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

If you want to get something from others, the fastest
way to do that may be to give them something for free,
first.

One thing you can give away for free is software.

Here are 10 web site marketing secrets to do this:

1. Gain free advertising by submitting your software
to freebie and freeware/shareware web sites. This
will increase the number of visitors to your web site.

2. If you created the free software yourself, you will
become known as an expert. This will gain people’s
trust and they will buy your main product faster.

3. Offer your software as an extra free bonus to the
people that buy one of your main products. People
buy products quicker with free bonuses included.

4. Publish your free software on disk or CD-Rom
then include it with your direct mail packages. This
can increase the amount of orders you’ll receive.

5. Build your opt-in e-mail list fast by asking your
visitors to give you their contact information before
they can download your software.

6. People love to get free stuff. They will visit your
web site to download the free software. Make sure
the software is attractive to your target audience.

7. Tell people they can download your software at
no-cost if they link to your web site. This strategy
will multiply your advertising all over the internet.

8. You will gain valuable referrals from people that
tell others about the free software you give away.
Word of mouth advertising can be very powerful.

9. Increase your e-zine’s subscriber base by giving
away software to people that subscribe to your
e-zine. This’ll give them an incentive to subscribe.

10. Give away software to your current customers
as a way of letting them know you appreciate their
business. This’ll create loyalty and repeat sales.

May these web site marketing secrets help you to
make a lot of money.

Warmly,

What Do Your Site Statistics Mean, Anyway?

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

The purpose of analyzing your web site statistics is to look for trends and to research the success level of your marketing campaigns. The numbers themselves can be misleading, as statistical packages count “hits” in different ways. If someone visits a page on your site doesn’t mean that they read it completely.

The idea with web site statistics, then, is to look for trends. Instead of looking at the numbers a concrete items, look at them over time to see if they’re increasing or decreasing. For example, if you do an internet marketing campaign, then look at your web site statistics to see if the campaign increased the number of hits to your site.

With that said, here are some numbers you should look at:

Visitor Information

There are three areas that are important to review each month and during each marketing campaign. The number of unique visitors will help you to determine whether your site is receiving more or less visitors each month.

The location tells you what country, and sometimes what State, the visitors are coming from. This is important if you’re concerned about your global reach to other countries, or if you’ve done a marketing campaign in other States. Note that this is the State of the ISP where they connected to the Internet. Because AOL is in Virginia, you will have an inordinate amount of Virginia visitors, even though these people are actually all over the USA.

An important distinction is the concept of “visitors” versus “hits”. Each person who visits your site is considered a “visitor”. Each time a visitor looks at a page, that page and its contents are accessed, including the graphics on the page. As example, say that your home page has two graphics on it, plus some text. That is considered THREE elements on the page. When a visitor visits that page once, your statistics will show ONE visitor and THREE hits.

Time of Day Activity

This area of your statistics helps you to determine which days of the week have the most activity, and which time of day is the most active. This can be helpful to know when to schedule chats and teleclasses. For instance, if Wednesdays at 3PM are popular times for your site, they may be popular times for teleclasses. It’s important to note here that one of the most popular times for people to search the web is weekdays after lunch. (People are at work and having a sugar low after digesting their lunch and are surfing the net instead of working.) If this is a popular time for people to be surfing the net, then this might also be a popular time for an internet chat on your web site.

Referrals

This section of your statistics will tell you who is sending people to your web site. It lists which search engines people use, as well as which keywords or key phrases people use to find your site. In addition, this section will also list what other sites are linking from their site to your site. (When someone links from their site to your site, it’s called an “inbound link” or “incoming link”.)

Pages

This section of your statistics will help you to determine which pages are visited most often, how long people stay on a page (presumably to read it), and which page people exit your site from. Again, trends matter here more than the concrete numbers. Are certain pages more popular than others? Are people only spending 5 seconds on a page that should take 3 minutes to read?

Error reports

This section tells you where people had problems accessing your site. If people try to access a certain page and can’t, it will be recorded here. If your site has been unavailable, you’ll see these numbers rise.

For a list of all internet error message numbers and they’re corresponding meaning, check out this website:

http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/error.asp

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many number to look at in your statistics, and many ways to interpret them. If you pay more attention to trends and problems, and less attention to actual numbers, you’ll be ahead of the game!

    India Travel

    Sunday, August 24th, 2008

With over 800 dialects and fifteen key languages, several religions including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism and Judaism, various genres of art, architecture, literature, music and dance, and lifestyles sweeping from urban and pastoral to tribal, India is characterized by a multifarious culture. For the traveler, this cultural feast is the country’s primary draw.

Whether you’re after adrenalin-pumping adventure, historical sightings or pristine beaches, scaling a mountainous peak or nightlong clubbing, India is a front-line tourist destination. Geographically speaking, there are few countries where you can go from tropical jungle to rugged mountains in less than 100 miles; the landscaped ranges from southern plains, riverside resorts, and beaches to vast deserts and snow-capped peaks. Bordered in the north by the Himalayan mountain range, the peninsula narrows down to Cape Comorin, its southernmost point. In the west, it is kissed by the Arabian Sea while to the east lies the Bay of Bengal.

Key attractions include the country’s cultural heritage and medieval society, its royal palaces and temples, its religious practices and festivals. The wealth of Indian culture, underlined by a religious tinge, has fascinated generations of travelers who are deeply moved by Quwallies (songs in praise of the Prophet) at Ajmer-e-Sharief; recitation of Gurbani (verses from the Granth Sahib) at Banglasahib Gurudwara; melodious synchronization of temple bells at the holy city of Pushkar; and Sunday masses in Goa. The recognition and acceptance of diversity has made Indians tolerant of all religions. They coexist because they respect their right to be different.

Tourist attractions notwithstanding, Indians love revelry, and every little occasion from the harvesting of crops and welcoming spring or bidding goodbye to winters, lends itself to festive celebrations splashed with vibrant colors, folk dances and traditional songs. People from different religions celebrate festivals like Holi (Festival of Color) and Diwali (Festival of Lights) with aplomb. The splendor and joviality of Id and Guru Purab celebrations also encompass people from all walks.

Choose The Best Personalized Baby Gift

    Friday, August 22nd, 2008

What are your options when it comes to finding a personalized baby gift? Once you get the announcement that the new little one has arrived, you know you want to get your friend or relative the perfect gift to commemorate the occasion. A personalized baby gift can be a wonderful way to celebrate, but you must take the time to look over all of the available options. Take your time, do a little homework, see what is out there, and make the decision.

Personalized baby gifts make fantastic presents to celebrate the arrival of a new person. Check out your local department store or mall to find that perfect baby gift with a personal touch. Another great place to look is in a catalog, where you may be able to find a great variety, but will also have to wait a little longer for the gift to get to you. Another excellent place to search for the perfect personalized baby gift is on the Internet. There area number of baby gift websites and many of them feature items that will make the perfect original and personal gift for the new arrival.

What makes websites such a great source of ideas for personalized baby gifts is that they have a number of choices. When you shop online you can compare prices and reviews without doing a lot of running around and traveling. You can see, literally, hundreds of personalized baby gifts in very little time so that you can find just the right one for the person and occasion.

There are a number of personalized baby gifts you can choose from since most anything can be personalized to at least some extent. You can look at baby blankets, frames, cups, photo albums, or even a scrapbook that the parents can keep and then allow the child to enjoy as he or she grows up. Anything will work since the personalization and gesture alone will mean a lot to the new parents.

Personalized baby gifts do not have to be for the birth alone. You can also give personalized baby gift for baptisms or christenings. Generally, the gifts for such occasions are a little more specialized, but a personalized Bible or christening blanket can be a great way to remember the special ceremony. You could also give a personalized cross, dress, or anything that is related to the ceremony for which you are giving the personalized baby gift.

Personalized baby gifts are something you will really enjoy shopping for and buying. You may even find that you enjoy it as much as the parents enjoy receiving the gift. Perhaps the best thing about giving a personalized baby gift is that it will be long remembered by the parents as well as the child as he or she ages. In many cases, in fact, you may find that a personalized baby gift will become a sort of heirloom that is passed on from generation to generation. In other words, choose a personalized baby gift to make that lasting and thoughtful impression.

Viburnums – Landcape and Garden Wonders

    Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Viburnums are plant that I can’t imagine a landscpe being without. If I had to eliminate all varieties from my gardens except for one I would be hard pressed to decide which to keep. All varieties of viburnums are attractive, versatile, adaptable shrubs for any landscape. They can be used as hedges or screens and in mixed perennial/shrub borders. They can also stand alone as specimen plants. They usually take the form of shrubs, but some species can become small ornamental trees. They range in size from the Dwarf American Cranberrybush at 2 feet tall by 2 feet wide, to the Siebold at over 15 feet tall.

Viburnums are plants with year round interest. Viburnums have white to pink flowers in the spring. They have large, attractive and often textured leaves. Some viburnums have wonderfully fragrant flowers that are produced in snowball shaped clusters in April. Their flower clusters can consist of pink buds, which develop into white flowers. Some fruits are red and turn black with age. Leaves are glossy, dark green and turn a burgundy color in the fall. Midsummer berries are an important food source for birds. Viburnums have colorful red to purple leaves. Some viburnums can become medium-size trees, especially if they are pruned. Viburnums excel as specimen plants or as anchors in mixed borders. You won’t find a more versatile group of shrubs for hedges or for massing in groups, since viburnums hold their own in every season. Some viburnums, such as Prague viburnum ‘Pragense’, are evergreen. Others, such as leatherleaf viburnum, are semi-evergreen in colder climates, losing their leaves when temperatures dip below 10 degrees.

We like Viburnums because of their adaptability and durability. While they would prefer full sun and moderately watered, well-drained rich soils, they grow very well in part shade in alkaline, clay soils. Diseases and pests are not common for viburnums. We have more trouble from my kids running over them with brush hogs. They claim they were testing their durability. Yet all the viburnums they chopped to the ground survived. In fact, we sold these plants for a premium as they produced better numbers of desireable stems. Their fibrous root system makes them transplant and propagate easily. (We do have more difficulty with the Korean Spice rooted cuttings.)

If you are shopping for a sharp hardy shrub consider one of the many cultivars of the Viburnum family. In fact select a couple of them. You will be rewarded with shrubs with all season interest.

Viburnums have long been popular garden plants, celebrated for their white, often fragrant spring flowers and their fall color. But it’s the Asian viburnums that have so far ruled the roost. Perhaps the most widely appreciated viburnums are the Burkwood viburnum (Viburnum x burkwoodii), and the Korean spice viburnum (V. carlesii), both of which fill the air with a pleasant odorin mid-spring. Also popular is the doublefile viburnum (V. plicatum f. tomentosum), valued for its layered habit, fall foliage, and clusters of red fruits. Viburnum acerifolium (Maple-leafed viburnum) Although I wouldn’t garden without any of these, I have a special fondness for several of our very gardenworthy native viburnums. They may not provide the enticing flower fragrance of their Asian cousins, but I love them not only for their rich fall foliage color but also for their fruit displays, which attract wildlife to my garden in the fall and durring the bleak winter months. In addition, several are useful to today’s waterwise gardeners or for urban conditions. They require only corrective pruning, and none commonly suffer from pests or diseases. I would be hardpressed to say which viburnum I would choose if I could only have one.

Viburnums are moist woodland plants. In nature they are found along steam banks from Long Island to Florida. When you come to our 5275 West Swamp Rd. location ask us to show some in their native habitat that we found along our stream bank. These plants perform well under normal landscape conditions. I especially like the floral display in the spring and these viburnums that bear fruit in the fall. Winterthur has great red leaves and abundant fruit in the fall. This cultivar needs a cross pollinator such as viburnum nudum.

Native Americans used Viburnum dentatum (arrowwood viburnum) for arrow shafts. There stems are long and strait. This plant will grow in places many plants struggle. So if you have had trouble with plants in a harsh location try this cultivar. Viburnums We raise over 10 types of Viburnums on our farms from seedlings to 5′ shrubs. If you have poor soils due to compacting from construction, try viburnums. Being rugged and hardy, they perform where other plants fail. American Cranberry Bush KoreanSpice Blackhaw ArrowwoodViburnum Chicago Luster (we have 500 3-6′ that must be sold by Sept 28 2005) Dawn Summer Snowflake Shasta Winterthur Blue Muffin Burkwood Erie Tea Judd Korean Spice Praque Siebold

In the Tyrolean Alps, okay, the southern “Alps Mountains” includes a region named Tyrol, a glacier-preserved 5,300-year old “ice-mummy” was found in 1991. This prehistoric man was preserved better than any other specimen ever found. What an incredible discovery. He was just lying there in the snow of the Hauslabjoch Pass on a warm September day when two hiking tourists saw his head. He had a bow of Evergreen Yew wood and arrows with shafts of Rosewood. There was even a stone arrowhead of flint, the hardened dark quartz, an axehead, and what seemed to be a medicine kit in a box of wood from a Birch tree. Birch is a popular landscaping tree with many varieties. How ’bout that, all these trees which are mentioned, we sell at Highland Hill Farm!

Where we invite our customers to explore for Indian artifacts, hunt, fish, camp, etc., maybe you can get lucky too. We have 5 properties, totalling 1100 acres, near the town of Milan, Pa, on the western side of Susquehanna River in rural Bradford County. >From Highland Hill Farm it is about a two-hour drive if you’ll please obey the speed limits. America’s prehistoric residents and later Native American Indians used straight branches from Arrowwood Viburnums, as the name implies, to make their arrows’ shafts. Did you ever wonder at what point in their growth the outside of thin tree boughs and twigs develop bark and become wood? When do little seedling’s stems, their “mini-trunks,” grow up enough to develop bark and become wood? How thick does a green wispy thin twig have to become before it’s a branch of wood? The answer is, generally, at about a half-inch diameter. In fact, that is just about the diameter of the Alpine Iceman’s arrows.

The greatest find since the discovery of the Neanderthal Neandertal) Man and the Cro-Magnon Man in France was barely a few feet over the Italian side of the border with Austria resting at an altitude of 10,500 feet. A total of four books, two books popular enough to become paperbacks, have since been written about “Oetzi,” or “Otzi,” as the ice-mummy has been named. Uncovering the Life and Times of a Prehistoric Man Found in an Alpine Glacier, by Brenda Fowler, was published in 2000. The Man in the Ice was published in 1995, by Konrad Spindler, the local archaeologist brought in when it became obvious a modern-day murder victim hadn’t been found. His book was updated in 2001. Two children’s books have also been published to help develop their interest in historical science as something they’ll find “current,” and not “boring.” The intense study of the “ice-mummy” yielding all the detailed information for these books was performed at Innsbruck University, and the body is now on display at the museum in Bolzano, Italy.

Do you see it? The point here is that when you plant trees and shrubs you aren’t just creating aesthetics, adding beauty, as implied by “ornamental” in so many of the names. You aren’t just adding a wind break or privacy screen. You are, in fact, giving your property additional natural resources.

After all the hours spent on this, and the !%^&@$*%#! Are/but/a/vitae, I need a break. If you need more info go to http://www.seedlingsrus.com/Viburnums.html

Martial Arts Wisdom for Alzheimer’s Caregivers: Rolling with Life’s Punches

    Monday, August 18th, 2008

Learn to Roll with Life’s Punches and Bounce Back

What can the martial arts teach Alzheimer’s family caregivers? Plenty. One powerful lesson comes from Aikido, a powerful, ethical, dynamic and beautiful martial art. Aikido means: “The Way of Harmonizing Energy.” Aikido practitioners learn to blend and steer an opponent’s force to safely control a situation. In the process of training we learn a lot about ourselves as well.

One thing that we learn in Aikido is ukemi (pronounced ooh-keh-mee) training. Ukemi is the art of falling down safely. It is important to learn how to fall in this martial art, so that you don’t get hurt when you are thrown. Basically, injury to yourself is not the result of being thrown hard, it’s the effect of falling poorly. Knowing how to fall well is essential for those times when you are thrown. You can spend a lifetime perfecting this skill. And you might as well. Take it from me: Gravity Always Wins.

In everyday life, when we fall down, we automatically tighten up our bodies, and increase the risk of injury. In ukemi trraining, we learn to gradually relax and let go of tension, even as we fall. This training leads to much softer impact, and a much happier Aikido-ist. Falling begins to feel more like floating, and less like crashing.

Now, am I sugesting that you drop everything and go enroll in Aikido classes? Of course not! But you can adopt the philosophy of falling well. What is the lesson of ukemi training for life? Putting aside the martial arts reasons for training, IN LIFE WE CONSTANTLY FALL DOWN! And caregiving is a continual challenge filled with even more sudden throws, and many expected and unexpected falls.

So we need to learn to fall with grace.

Think about it. If a person is bound and determined to never ever waver, to never try a different approach, what will happen when she hits an obstacle? What will happen when her usual approach to caregiving isn’t working right? Any Alzheimer’s caregiver knows that mistakes, challenges, and frustrations are inevitable.

And you know what makes that simple setback worse? It’s that good old human tendency to get upset because you made a mistake. We are expert at tormenting ourselves by getting distressed, angry anxious, nervous, worried, or whatever- just because we ran into a frustration. That’s the way in which we tighten up emotionally as we fall. And we know what pain that can lead to. Sound familiar?

So, how can we roll with caregiving’s punches?

    1. Expect to fall, to be frustrated at times. It is inevitable in life, and even more unavoidable for a caregiver.

    2. Perfect your own personal emotional ukemi training. Stubbornly refuse to torture yourself about your mistake. Learn to relax when you are frustrated.

    3. Find ways to remind yourself that it’s OK to make mistakes, and that the important thing is to relax, get your balance, and get back up. You could make a sign that says something like “Relax,” or “Balance,” and hang it where you can see it. make more than one.

    4. Don’t ignore your signs once they are up. When you pass your sign, stop a minute, and rehearse its message. That’s the way advertising works.

    5. Get in the habit of rewarding yourself not for being perfect, and not just when things are going along smoothly. Instead, celebrate that you got back up to try again.

    6. If you are comfortable, try sharing this radical philosophy with others.

    7. Remember: it’s not the mistake that stops you. It’s your decision to stop that stops you.

    8. Finally, keep in mind a wise old Buddhist saying:

“if you fall down seven times, get up eight times.”

I trained for years with a very remarkable person who was also a caregiver. When I would see him and ask how he was doing, he’d smile and say, “I’m still taking ukemi.” And then we’d train. I wish you good ukemi!

Your World Wide Real Property Markets — Made Easy by Property Index

    Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Property Index are specialists for property in Portugal, view the site to see the different properties.

Notwithstanding the Property Index online service is only a fairly young firm, they were founded in March 2007, they were fast to establish themselves. They are a pretty unpretentious firm focusing entirely on offering their expert guidance to every visitor contemplating to sell property all over the world. Their guarantee: to help you discover squarely what’s required quick plus straightforwardly. Property can be found in most areas of the world these days, certainly the fanciest area being land available for sale in Portugal. It’s easy as one-two-three to list a slew of the great property available in Portugal, one motive for opting for properties here being properties available and the mega cool possibility of spending your life amongst such a peppy and animated people.

This is one of the most favored property markets these days, and in view of the gorgeous landscape and the agreeable climate surrounding you here, how can you go wrong. Property in Portugal is steeped in history, art and culture, this country has been and is still home to lots of sophisticated civilizations. Some 30 years ago you would find a mere dribble of UK citizens who are looking for property in Portugal. Ask everyone who has chosen to relocate to Portugal and they’ll tell you the same thing. Some people would describe it as a fairly insignificant craze and others describe it as a practically a compulsion! People set on moving here will typically range from yuppies who are looking for a perspective to the older generation planning to have fun.

There can be predicaments when buying property in a foreign country — you’ll have to cope with a million steps to consider when strategizing, calling in or buying. If you miss out on only a single action that will easily bring about large predicaments not to forget, even more importantly, financial loss. Obviously and expectably with this favored place, property may well be pretty high priced in this region which is, of course, simply because of the steep demand. Nonetheless the client is spoiled in such an area full of sunny environment and sensational view. Definitely it has the whole lot any of us could want, and plenty more.

    Franchisor; Ongoing Support and Ideas

    Friday, August 15th, 2008

Ongoing support for a franchise system is omnipotent. A major part of any family relationship is communication. A large franchise system is similar to a giant family; it needs constant communication. By providing on going support for your franchisees, we will guarantee both success and open communication lines will strengthen you company and team in the market place. Some things, which many franchisors do not do or do not do enough are little things which are really low cost and simple. For instance sending out sales tapes.

Sales tapes (cassettes) should be mailed out once per month to franchisees on the 25th of each month; this is a motivator. The 26th through the 29th are the slowest cash days because people live paycheck to paycheck and are the most broke on those dates, meaning sales are slow those days and these tapes will motivate. This is good to know because it gives the customers an excuse to use their credit cards. Your franchisees will look forward to these tapes each month. Motivation is the key to personal selling. More sales means more money for the franchisees, which means happier franchisees.

Another tool you can mail out are videos of how to use products; many of these videos are free from suppliers, so ask vendors for such free promotional materials. Franchisees who are knowledgeable about products and techniques express confidence in their voice and body language. Confident people who believe they have a great service and superior products have higher sales volumes.

Franchisors are constantly updating manuals. I remember when I finished writing my original manuals for my franchise in 1994, little did I know I would by the year 2000 completely revised every single page. Updates in operations manuals occur often and you should send out the changes two times per month along with a hand written note to thank the franchisees on something; perhaps a standout figure in one of the daily or weekly reports or share with them a compliment from a customer which came into head quarters. Also asking for reciprocal thoughts on new techniques, products, marketing procedures, equipment, etc. I cannot tell you as a franchisor founder how often the best ideas came from franchisees who may not have even told me, had we not asked them first. Along with the changes in the manuals perhaps you might send possible sales leads and bidder’s list contacts. Franchisors would also be advised to keep track of contacts in the franchisees trading area or exclusive territory and burn a CD ROM of those new business listings. In addition smart franchisors should keep updated with cross-reference directories, etc. and mail copies or CD ROM of that information once per month to give them an edge on their local competition.

Just because the rest of the pack or industry is not savvy enough to think and innovate or come up with ways to improve communication does not mean your company should not press on. Think about it.

The Introduction On Line Sport Wagers

    Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Connect both of people’s chief leisure actvities and what you will reveal is a phenomenon that’s known as a Web sportsbook. Well, what could believably be more original… If you envisage a mix of sports aficionados cheering to support a given local lineup, and almost always stakes will be pinned down right along with the din. So keen to catch some of the anticipation, bystanders regularly try to figure who will win in the coming meetup. Put together, this all develops into a little affable meetup termed Web sportsbook.

Admittedly it might easily appear uncontrollable, but, rather sports betting is, in reality, simply for fun and to bond with one’s fellow sports addicts. Here, you’ll be able to wager a any minor sum of chips and regardless have an amazing time. Here’s a group of hints to help you get started sports betting.

If you want to bet, you’ll want to search for a Web sportsbook, which is a place that offers Web sportsbook.
